STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW

State police responded to a single vehicle crash around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, along South Eagle Valley Road in Taylor Township. According to police, a 14-year-old Port Matilda boy was riding a 2022 Zhejiang CFmoto Power Co. LTD Hangzhou Pro CForce 1000 (ATV) when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove into a tree line. Police said the 14-year-old boy was not wearing a helmet and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

State police responded to a crash around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, along Lucas Road in Boggs Township. According to police, a 43-year-old Philipsburg man was driving a 1999 Saturn Ion when the vehicle left the roadway, hitting the ditch and a tree stump. The Saturn Ion then flipped, coming to a rest on its roof. Officers reported that the driver and the passenger were not initially located following the crash but were taken to the hospital for suspected injuries once found. The 43-year-old Philipsburg man was cited for the crash and arrested for driving under the influence, police said.

State police are investigating a theft that occurred between Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Sunday, Oct. 15, along Nittany Valley Drive in Walker Township. According to police, an unknown suspect made seven transactions using the online banking account of a 64-year-old Howard woman, resulting in $17,381 being illegally transferred from her account.

State police responded to a single vehicle crash around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, along Pine Glen Road in Burnside Township. According to police, a 19-year-old Frenchville woman was driving a 2006 BMW 325 at a speed that officers said was too fast for the conditions and the woman veered off of the road, hitting an embankment before flipping onto the left side of the car. Police did not report any injuries.

State police responded to a crash around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, along the Benner Pike in Benner Township. According to police, a 32-year-old Bellefonte woman was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry when she attempted to pass a “non-motorist” vehicle operated by a 36-year-old Bellefonte man, before trying to make an abrupt right turn but subsequently hit the 36-year-old Bellefonte man who was thrown from the unit and is suspected to have minor injuries. The 32-year-old Bellefonte woman was cited for the crash.

State police responded to a crash around 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, along Interstate 80 in Marion Township. According to police, an 85-year-old Belleville man was driving a 2024 Subaru Forester when he slowed down due to traffic ahead. An 82-year-old Williamsport woman driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado noticed the Subaru Forester ahead slowing down and also slowed down, however, a 44-year-old Williamsport man driving a 2017 Jeep Renegade failed also to slow down and rear-ended the Chevrolet Silverado driven by the 82-year-old Williamsport woman. The impact of the crash caused the Chevrolet Silverado to then rear-end the Subaru Forester. A 48-year-old passenger in the Jeep Renegade was suspected to have minor injuries and both the 44-year-old Williamsport man and the 82-year-old Williamsport woman were cited for the crash.

State police responded to a crash around 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, along Brush Valley Road in Miles Township. According to police, a 27-year-old Loganton man was driving a 2000 Toyota Echo when he hit some loose gravel, lost control of the vehicle, and hit an embankment, causing the vehicle to flip onto its passenger side. The 27-year-old Loganton man was cited for the crash and taken to the hospital for suspected minor injuries. His 17-year-old female passenger was also taken to the hospital for suspected minor injuries.
