STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW

State police investigated a two-vehicle crash that took place at 10 a.m. on June 28 along Interstate 80 in Marion Township. According to police, a 2007 Ford F450 was traveling eastbound around mile marker 167 when the truck struck the back of a 2006 Peterbilt tractor trailer. The Ford F450 then left the roadway and struck a guiderail. The truck’s attached trailer then overturned on I-80. It was carrying a tiny-house structure, which was a total loss.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage in the crash. Police were assisted at the scene by Eagle Towing and the Marion Walker Fire Department. No injuries were reported and police did not release the names of the drivers involved.

A case of harassment was investigated by state police at 7:10 p.m. on July 6. According to police, a 56-year-old Milesburg woman harassed a 23-year-old Mill Hall man at a private residence along Turnpike Street in Milesburg Borough. The woman was charged with one count of entitled harassment. The citation was filed with district magistrate 49-3-02.

State police investigated a case of criminal trespass that took place at 4 p.m. on July 6 at the McDonald’s along North Eagle Valley Road in Boggs Township. According to police, a 63-year-old Bellefonte woman returned to McDonald’s after being banned from the restaurant because she had caused a disturbance earlier in the day. The woman was charged with one count of criminal trespass and one count of disorderly conduct with district magistrate 49-3-05.

A domestic disturbance was investigated by state police at 3 a.m. on June 20. According to police, Marie Rossman, 45, of Snow Shoe, was charged as a result of the domestic incident. The victims were two males — an 85-year-old and a 52-year-old, both from Spring Mills. Police said that a curtain was burned during the incident.

State police were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place at 10:04 p.m. on June 29 along Interstate 99 in Huston Township. According to police, a 2002 BMW M3 was traveling southbound around mile marker 65 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. It left the roadway and struck a guiderail. The driver, a 17-year-old from Brisbin, was not hurt in the crash. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene by Gio’s Towing. Police were assisted at the scene by Alpha Fire Company, Port Matilda Fire Company and Port Matilda EMS.

State police investigated a case of a missing firearm along Penntech Drive in Benner Township. Police reported that multiple firearms went missing sometime between Jan. 1 and June 21. The types of weapons missing are an AR-15-type rifle and a military-style shotgun. No other details were reported by police.

State police are investigating a rape that allegedly took place at 10:55 a.m. on June 21 in College Township. No other details were reported by PSP.

A case of criminal mischief was investigated by state police around 9:30 p.m. on June 29. According to police, someone fired shots in a residential area along Texas Hollow Road in Walker Township. A home owned by a 53-year-old Mifflintown woman was damaged by shots. Damage to the home’s siding is estimated at $50.

State police are investigating a case of identity theft that was reported at 2:48 p.m. on July 9. According to police, a 44-year-old Centre Hall woman had her identity stolen. The investigation continues.

A one-vehicle crash was investigated by state police at 7:50 a.m. on July 9. According to police, a 2016 Ford Explorer being driven by Taysha Burns, 24, of Bellefonte, was traveling along Interstate 99 in Worth Township when a deer ran onto the roadway. The Explorer struck the deer, causing severe damage. There were no injuries in the crash. Police were assisted at the scene by Halfmoon Towing.

A one-vehicle crash called state police to the scene at 10:15 p.m. on July 3 along Mill Street in Bellefonte Borough. According to police, a 2011 Mazda 3 being driven by Gavin Rafter, 21, of Mill Hall, was traveling along Mill Street when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a guide rail. A tire became stuck between the bottom of the guide rail and the shoulder, causing disabling damage.

Police said Rafter was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and controlled substances. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Police were assisted at the scene by Gray’s Towing.

There were no injuries in the crash.

A two-vehicle crash took place around 4 p.m. on July 7 along Interstate 99 in Benner Township. According to police, a 2019 Isuzu small truck being driven by Brian Selfridge, 35, of Bellefonte, was in the right lane of I-99. He lost control of his vehicle in heavy rain and struck a 2019 Dodge Ram truck being driven by Timothy Weighley, 38, of Berlin. Damage to both vehicles was severe, but there were no injuries.

Police were assisted at the scene by Halfmoon Towing and the State College Fire Department.
