This past year has meant spending more time at home. For many, all that time at home has them thinking about home improvement projects or building their dream home.
“We have spent so much time at home this year. It has become our office, our school … our everything. So, something that we have always wanted to change about our home, now it becomes a necessity,” said Keri O’Shea, executive officer of the Builders Association of Central PA.
She said for many making a home a more comfortable space, both inside and out, is important to people stuck in
“We can’t travel and we are spending our vacation at home, so people are investing in their homes because it is so important right now,” said O’Shea.
On Feb. 27, people can start looking into these dream home projects right from the comfort of their own home, during the 2021 Centre PA Virtual Everything Home Expo. This free event is the area’s one-stop resource to help homeowners find local, reputable professionals for home needs.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Builders Association of Central PA will provide homeowners the opportunity to meet with industry experts during its annual home show, just as it has done for the past 36 years. But this year, it is
coming to you. Imagine, being able to interact live with exhibitors and walk them through your homes and garden projects virtually.
“If you want to improve your kitchen, you can talk to a skilled kitchen remodeler and show them your kitchen,” said O’Shea.
O’Shea said the virtual event is easy to use and user friendly. No apps are required to attend the event, just visit www.centralpahomeexpo.com, click on the link for guest registration and follow the prompts. Once the event is live, virtual visitors will find booth tiles on the show page for each exhibitor’s service/company.
Each exhibitor tile will include a brief description of services, a link to their website, photos and videos. During the event, attendees will be able to text and even speak with exhibitors in real time by clicking the link for live video chat. It’s almost like a zoom session, accessible from your computer, laptop, tablet or phone.
Educational seminars will help to inspire, and the attendees can learn about the latest products and newest services to make their home the envy of the neighborhood. Attendees can save money with Home Expo specials from expo exhibitors and win great prizes. The grand prize this year is a $500 voucher to use towards a purchase at a participating exhibitor.
Building or improving your home can be a challenging project, said O’Shea, but this expo will help attendees find industry experts and support small, local businesses, to get those projects off the ground.
“We are really excited. We would love to be able to meet in person, but we are happy we still get to interact with attendees,” said O’Shea.
