Centre County Reports No New COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Has Lowest Increase in Nearly 15 Months

Centre County reported no new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, the third time this month with no daily increase. The county has had 16,891 cases since the start of the pandemic

Pennsylvania added 226 cases, the state’s lowest increase since March 24, 2020, when there were 207. Sunday’s new positives bring the statewide total to 1,208,513.

The county reported 65 additional negative test results, bringing its total to 70,179. Statewide, there were 4,597 new negatives for a total of 4,675,728.

According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, six COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, one fewer than on Saturday.

Pennsylvania has 526 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 46 since Saturday.

DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the county’s total at 224.

With 14 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is now 27,488.

An estimated 96% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a health department calculation.

As of Sunday morning, 73,077 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 11,244 are partially covered.

Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in MedicineMount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov.

The state-run Regional Vaccination Clinic at the Bryce Jordan Center, which offers vaccinations for ages 18 and older, will be open through Monday for walk-ins only.
