College Township Seeking Public Comments on Pedestrian Facilities Master Plan

College Township has opened a 60-day public comment period for residents to provide input on its pedestrian facilities master plan.

“Walkable College Township – A Pedestrian Facilities Master Plan,” has been in development since 2020, building on the township’s 2018 Sidewalk Master Plan and the Centre Region Bike Plan to identify ways to fill connectivity gaps in the sidewalk and shared-use path network.

Through Oct. 13, community members can visit the plan’s web hub to provide input. The site includes includes an executive summary of each plan section, mapping and a survey to gather feedback.

A hard copy of the plan and the survey also are available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays throughout the public input period at the College Township Municipal Building, 1481 E. College Ave.

This is the second public input period the township has held for the plan. The first, held last year, helped identify the highest priority pedestrian needs for the future.

“The robust input received during that initial comment input period was utilized to help craft the draft plan that will be open for public review,” according to a township news release
