You’ve heard pollinators are important, but do you know what they do or how they do it? During this two-day, half-day program, middle-school aged youth will have the opportunity to explore The Arboretum at Penn State’s new pollinator garden. The garden’s various habitats of a pond, wetlands, woodland, fruit orchard, and a dry meadow, will serve as a living laboratory for the study of pollinators in their natural habitat. Youth will be challenged to develop critical thinking skills by investigating the important role pollinator’s play in the natural environment as well as in our society. Activities include learning about various pollinator species and plants, the pollination process, and challenges pollinators face in a changing world. This program is supported by the Mark Jay Tygel Endowment for Educational Programs in The Arboretum at Penn State.

This program is for children entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Participation is free, but advance registration is required: https://cvent.me/Eg0E5D.
