Faith Centre Providing Free Back-to-School Clothing

The first day of school is right around the corner and The Faith Centre in Bellefonte is helping students and families save a little money by offering a back-to-school giveaway.

The annual event will be held Aug. 2-7 at 110 W. High St.

Students from kindergarten through high school seniors, coming with a parent, will be able to choose three outfits and a pair of new sneakers for free. There are no income guidelines.

The hours at Faith Centre are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Tuesdays and Thursdays, it is open until 7 p.m.

“Our many volunteers in the thrift store have been sorting and saving fall and school-appropriate clothing,” Donna Spicer, store manager, said. “As a result, plenty of choices will be available, and the store has four private rooms for trying on the outfits.”

Last year, 186 students selected outfits and shoes from Faith Centre to enjoy at back-to-school time.

If anyone would like to partner with the Faith Centre in helping the students in this manner, staff said it would be greatly appreciated. Donations of new sneakers in larger (7-14) sizes are especially needed. Donated clothing should be clean and gently used. The store requests items from size 5 through teen sizes.

Faith Centre is a Christian, faith-based group of programs, services and facilities, open for all. For more information call (814) 355-2238.
