Hearts for State College Program to Spread Messages of Love

The second annual Hearts for State College program has kicked off and will be spreading messages of love around downtown State College from Feb. 8 to March 1.

It’s part of the State College Sunrise Rotary Club’s Valentine’s Day fundraiser.

The hearts allow people and businesses to show their love for that special someone with a personalized message on heart banners throughout downtown State College. Proceeds from the project will benefit the club’s efforts to support the community and nonprofit organizations across the region.

“We know it has been a tough year for many in our community,” said Tiffany Mathias, Rotary’s program chair. “Our hope is that these messages will help bring joy to those visiting the downtown district, as well as provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses, and organizations to share love and positivity with the region. It also helps provide a great Valentine’s Day gift for that special someone.”

Messages are $50 each and orders and payments must be received by Sunday, Jan. 31. Visit www.statecollegesunriserotary.org/hearts for ordering information.

“It made me so happy to share a message that I knew would make people smile as they walked by it,” said Ciara Halloran, who purchased heart messages last year. “In a year where there have been so many challenges and so many things to drive people apart, I’m excited to help share some joyful energy around State College.”
