Levin Furniture to Hold Grand Opening for State College Area Store

A new furniture store has made a home in the former Wolf Furniture building in Patton Township.

Levin Furniture and Mattress will hold a grand opening at 1 p.m. on Wednesday for its first central Pennsylvania location at 138 Valley Vista Drive.

The event will include a ribbon cutting, special discounts, “spin to win” prizes for customers and a presentation of a check to the Four Diamonds, which provides financial and emotional support for pediatric cancer patients and their families at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.

“As a proud Penn State graduate, I’m excited to be a part of the State College community,” Chairman Robert Levin said in a statement.

Levin retired in 2017 and sold the 100-year-old company to Art Van Furniture, which also acquired Altoona-based Wolf Furniture that year.

Last spring, however, Art Van filed for bankruptcy and closed its Wolf and Levin stores. Robert Levin reopened his family’s company in July and subsequently acquired 24 Wolf and Levin locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Since acquiring the Centre County location in December, the company has renovated the 50,000-square foot building.

It is the company’s 14th Pennsylvania location, with a 15th set to open later this summer in Altoona.

Levin Furniture and Mattress’s State College area store will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday
