Mark Hall, Vincenzo Joseph Join Collegiate Coaching Staffs

Former Penn State wrestling stars Mark Hall and Vincenzo Joseph are both set to assume assistant coaching roles now that their days of collegiate competition are over.

The University of Pennsylvania announced Monday that Hall is joining the Quakers’ staff as a volunteer assistant coach, while Stanford named Joseph an assistant coach Wednesday.

“Becoming a coach has been a dream of mine since my freshman year of college,” Hall said. “Prior to that, I was going to school to become a teacher. It is in my blood to provide others with life and athletic advice, and I could not be prouder to join the Penn wrestling staff so I can do just that.”

The Nittany Lion will be an assistant under Hall of Fame Penn head coach Roger Reina, a multiple-time EIWA and Ivy League champion.

Hall was a four-year starter for Penn State, a member of three national championship-winning teams, and the first true freshman in program history to boast an NCAA title. He graduated in 2020 after the Nittany Lions’ title run was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Over on the west coast, Joseph is set to enter his first collegiate coaching job with the Cardinal.

“I am very excited and grateful to accept this position at Stanford University,” Joseph said. “We have high aspirations for the program and I am thrilled to get started. Stanford athletics has a history of excellence and we see ourselves competing with the best. We are looking to bring this program to new heights and are ready to get to work!”

Joseph, also a 2020 grad, had an illustrious career in Happy Valley. He was a three-time All-American as a Nittany Lion and is a two-time national champion.
