Barbara A. Soder

Barbara A. Soder 83, of Bellefonte passed away January 14, 2021 at Elmcroft of State College. Barbara was born March 21, 1937, a daughter of the late Claire and Olive Baumgardner of Moshannon, PA. She married Kenneth H. Soder Sr. of Grassflat, PA on December 7, 1957. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2010. Barbara is survived by her children, Kimberly A. Dombek (David) of Bellefonte and Kenneth H. Soder Jr. (Kathy) of Petersburg, PA. Also, her grandchildren, Rachel Spangler (Rory) of West Palm Beach, FL, Danielle Dombek of Seattle, WA and Nathan Soder of Petersburg. Her siblings Myrtle Walters, Lane, Timothy and Clark Baumgardner all of Moshannon.

While her children were young, Barbara worked as a ‘lunch lady’ for the State College Area School District and then for Jostens in State College as a Paste Up Operator until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, canning, crocheting and visiting with her neighbors.

She was a member of the Grace Luther Church in State College where she was a faithful attendee up until her illness and also a member of the Sewing Circle at the church.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Grace Baumgardner, Audrey Lyons and Charlotte Yurky.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Elmcroft for their compassionate and loving care.

Services will be private. Burial will be in the Grassflat Lanse Lutheran Cemetery.
