Barbara E. “Barb” Musser, 84, of Centre Hall, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Wynwood House in Centre Hall. Born on October 14, 1936 in Boalsburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel “Ralph” and Margaret E. (Snyder) Rishel. On October 21, 1954 in Boalsburg, she married the love of her life, Raymond E. “Ray” Musser, who survives at home.

Barb was a 1954 graduate of State College High School. Prior to marrying Ray, she worked in the jewelry department of Danks Department Store in downtown State College and performed administrative work for the Centre Daily Times. After marriage, she became a homemaker and stay-at-home mom, taking care of the house and raising their two daughters. After the children got older, she worked as a party and wedding consultant for Unlimited Rentals in State College.

Barb was a member of the St. John’s UCC church in Boalsburg. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and painting. During Ray’s retirement years, he would do the woodworking and she would paint and sew items and crafts, that they would take on the road to various craft shows. She and Ray were snow birds, they would winter in Florida every year. Barb was a good mother, a loving wife, and had a feisty attitude that only added to her charm. She will forever be loved and greatly missed.

Along with her husband, Barb is survived by two daughters, Jody S. Beaton and her husband, Dale, of Florence, S.C. and Wendy J. Nolf and her husband, David Coval, of Centre Hall; three grandchildren, Shondra Badger and her husband, Chris of Mount Pleasant, N.C., Cody Nolf and his wife, Jen, of Lemont, and Kyle Nolf and his wife, Samantha, of Petersburg; six grandchildren, Tenleigh, Braelyn, Karsyn, Gavin, Everett, Sophia, and a set of twins are on the way; and “Leo”, the best canine companion one could ask for.

Along with her parents, Barb was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Keller Rishel. She was the last of her generation.

Funeral services for Barb will be private with Pastor Craig Munnell officiating. Barb will be laid to rest at the Boalsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Barb’s memory to Grane Hospice Care, 115 Union Ave, Altoona, PA 16602.

Ray, Jody, and Wendy would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the Grane Hospice Care Team Members that took such great care of Barb. Your efforts did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
