Belvia Jane (Nevling) Walk, 86, of Julian passed away on December 9, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. Jane was born in Bell Hollow, Taylor Township on May 23, 1934 to Lawrence Brown Nevling and Freda Marie Cowher Nevling. She graduated from Port Matilda High School in 1952. Thereafter, Jane worked for a short time at the shirt factory in Tyrone. On June 5, 1954, Jane married Clement H. Walk, who preceded her in death on August 4, 1996. Together they raised seven children on a small farm in Julian. Jane enjoyed baking for her family and was known for her delicious home-made bread, cinnamon rolls, and especially her pies. Family members could expect all their favorite pies at each holiday dinner and for their birthdays. Jane also enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crafting. She often gifted the quilts and crafts she made to family members. Jane retired from the Food Services Division of Penn State University in 1986.

Jane is survived by her seven children: Chandler C. Walk (Susan), Gary L. Walk (Jan), Leah J. Davis (David), Cindy Walk (Rich Caldena), Carmen Soltis (Ronald), Daryl E. Walk (Christine), and Susan J. Kepler (Chris). Jane is also survived by her sister, Ruby L. Woodring, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Jane was predeceased by an infant grandson (Chandler Davis), three brothers (Samuel, Raymond, and Alton Nevling) and one sister (Leah Smith).

The family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg for the compassionate care they provided to Jane during her final years and particularly the last few months of her life. Services are private. If you wish to honor Jane, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice or bake someone you love their favorite pie.
