Betty L. Tarman, 77, of Bellefonte, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on December 3, 1943, in Pearisburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Lucille V. (LaFon) Albert. On June 28, 1962, in Maryland, she married Thomas D. Tarman, who died July 23, 2018.

Betty attended the Pearisburg High School. She was attended the Christ Community Church in State College. She was a Personal Care Giver in the area for many years, retiring in 2007.

Betty was a member of the 1199 Union and was the Union Representative for many years. She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, sewing, making miscellaneous crafts, and playing cards with her friends. She along with her husband loved to dance. The won several awards for dancing the Jitterbug. They were always the stars on the dance floor at weddings and parties. Her absolute favorite thing to do was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She adored each one of them.

Betty is survived by her three daughters: Tina J. Conwell and her husband, Gary, of Rehoboth, DE, Belinda D. Walker of Pleasant Gap, and Rebecca A. Moore of Tyrone. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two son in-laws: Rick Moore and Andy Walker, two brothers: J.B. Albert and Jim D. Albert, two sisters: Shirley L. Atkins and Bonnie J. Grove, and by one grandson, Justin Martin.

Due to the current pandemic, there will no services at this time. There will be a Celebration of Life service planned this spring at Askey Cemetery.
