Born April 29, 1927, in Bellefonte, she was one of seven children of the late John William and Eloise Smith Bottorf. On June 6, 1945 she married Joseph C. Meyer, Jr. who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Barry Meyer and spouse, Diana, East Berlin, PA, Nancy and spouse, Jerry Smeltzer, Canton, OH, and Dennis Meyer and spouse, Cheryl, State College, PA; two siblings, Sandra and spouse, Thomas Durbin, Waverly Township, PA, and Donald Bottorf, Essex, MD; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Davis on August 31, 2015.

Carolyn was a 1945 graduate of Bellefonte High School.

Along with her husband, she was owner and operator of the Meyer Dairy Farm Corporation and the Meyer Dairy Store, where she played a key role in the accounting needs of the business. Carolyn was a devoted wife and partner to her husband Joe during their 75 years of marriage.

Carolyn’s grandchildren had several names for her including Grandma, G-G Ma, and Mas. She loved spoiling each of them and made a point to crochet quilts for all of them as babies. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. One of her greatest joys was opening her home when any of the family came to visit. She wore many hats for the business, willingly shared her talents of cooking, and her compassion of caring for friends and family. Carolyn always put family and friends first before her own needs.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, PA.

A private funeral service will be at 10 a.m. for the family on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the funeral home with the Reverend Jes Kast officiating.
