Charles Crock went to with his Lord on Thursday, June 10, 2021. He was 98 years old. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Louise Walker Crock, a grandson Tobias Paul, his father Charles Crock and his mother Sarah Bowmaster Crock. Brothers Donald, Harry, Fred, Marlin and Richard. One sister Hazel Schultz.

He is survived by his sisters, Betty Day and Martha Houser. 

Children: Kenneth (Gale), Linda (Ken) Rothrock both of Newnan, GA, Robert of Clarence, Carol Robinson of Philipsburg, Doris Crock and Ernest (Kathy) of Bellefonte, Daniel (Sandy) of Union Grove, AL George (Betty) of Snow Shoe, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren.

Charles proudly served his country during World War ll from 1944-1947. He served in the Pacific Theatre with the 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment, an element of the 11th Airborne Division. He was present dockside of the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay for the formal signing of the surrender of the Empire of Japan which ended World War ll.

Charles married Edna Louise Walker on August 5, 1949. Shortly after the marriage he went to work at Titan Metal (Cerro, Copper & Brass) as a truck driver until he retired in 1985.

Charles enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, farming, and spending time playing with his grandchildren.

Charles was a member of Buffalo Run United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being a “greeter” at the Fillmore UMC. Other churches he attended were Curtin UMC and Clarence UMC.

Everyone knew Charles as a giving person. He volunteered at the Milesburg Foodbank for many years. He loved to share from his vegetable garden. He always had an apple and a smile for everyone whose life he touched.

A public viewing will be on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard. Funeral service will be on Friday, June 18, 22021 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lynn Wilcox officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Schenk’s Cemetery in Howard.
