Cynthia D. Dorman

Cynthia D. Dorman, 77, of Bellefonte, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Centre Care Nursing Home. Born on December 18, 1943 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Evander Mims Gandy and Helen Violet (Walker) Gandy. On September 8, 1962, she married her beloved husband, Nevin Dorman, who is surviving at home after sharing over 58 years of marriage together.

Cynthia was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. She dedicated her life to taking care of her home and raising her family, a job that she was more than proud to do. 

In addition to her husband, Nevin, she is survived by her four children, Theresa Ann Fields (Dennis) of Warriors Mark, Faith M. Krout (Richard) of Millheim, James K. Dorman (Carmen) of Zion, and Susan D. Dorman (Calvin L. Laughard) of Bellefonte. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Devin L. Dorman. 

Cynthia spent numerous weekends at various softball fields in the area, where her husband was an umpire. She enjoyed camping with her family at Hidden Valley. She especially looked forward to the trips where she took her children and grandson, Michael, to Disney World; she has been four times! She loved taking care of her family, whether it was her children as they were growing up, or most recently her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They truly were what brought her the most joy. 

There will be a graveside service held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 11am, at Zion Cemetery, with Rev. Herbert R. Emel officiating. Following CDC recommendations, social distancing is encouraged, and face coverings will be required at all services.
