Donald “Tubby” H. Chamberlin, 69, of Spring Mills, passed away at home on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Born on March 7, 1951 in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Charles E. Chamberlin, Sr., and Clara May (Young) Chamberlin. On August 19, 1972 he married the love of his life, Charlotte (McCamley) Chamberlin, who survives him at home after sharing 49 years of marriage together.

Donald was a graduate of Penns Valley High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Hanson Aggregats for 39 years.

In addition to his wife, Charlotte, he is survived by four brothers, Russel, James, Gerald, and John, and one sister, Mary Bechdel.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles, Jr., and Terry Lee.

Donald never met a stranger; he made friends very easily. He could light up any room he walked into by telling some of his famous jokes. He loved spoiling children (family or not!) and they always liked learning the card tricks that he would teach them. He loved his morning coffees at Snappy’s. Donald enjoyed going camping, hunting, and fishing; he truly appreciated every minute he was able to spend with his family out at camp. He and Charlotte also enjoyed going to sales – they would go to Belleville nearly every Wednesday for the sale!

He was a member of the Center Hall American Legion Post 779 and the Millheim Fireman’s Club.

There will be a public viewing held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, from 10am-12pm, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. at 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow at the funeral home at noon with Pastor David Downer officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
