Dorothy L. Roan

Dorothy L. Roan, 83, of Centre Hall, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at her residence.  She was born on January 24, 1938 in Bellefonte, Pa.  the daughter of the late James & Joann Conway Shaffer.

She worked at Hanover Foods for over 43 years and later at Snappy’s in Centre Hall.  She was a graduate of Bald Eagle High School class of 1956 where she was valedictorian of her class.

Dorothy enjoyed her Atlantic City and beach trips.  She was a former Avon Representative. She also enjoyed cross-stitching.  She was a protestant by faith.

She is survived by two daughters Carole (Harry) Swanger of Lewistown and Tammy S. Roan of Centre Hall, one brother Donald (Diane) Shaffer of Howard, three grandchildren Jennifer Walters, Amy Luse, and Jamie Miller, twelve great grandchildren, and seven step-great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Morrow, four sisters Barb, Charlotte, Sade, and Rebecca and a brother James. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating.. Friends and family will be received from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.  Burial will be at the Jacksonville Cemetery.
