Floyd H. Reeser, 89, of Centre Hall, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA, from pulmonary complications. Born on January 11, 1932, in Freeport, PA, he was the son of the late Price W. and Lenora C. (Atkinson) Reeser. On January 23, 1959, at the United Lutheran Church in Tarentum, PA, he married Elizabeth N. “Liz” McClure, who survives at home.

Floyd graduated from Freeport High School in 1949. After high school, he enlisted with the United States Army in June of 1949, serving in Panama and earning the rank of Corporal before his honorable discharge in October of 1952. He then earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1957 and Master’s degree in 1959, both in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. He worked for 35 years as an electrical engineer at the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State.

Floyd was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ and the Lion’s Club in Centre Hall. He was a social bowler for several years, enjoyed watching Steelers football, and loved to travel, especially to the lakes of Ontario, Canada. Floyd ‘starred’ in the Penns Valley Snow Frolics and for many years sang tenor in the Penns Valley Men’s Chorus. He was a generous and supportive father and was happily married to Liz for 62 years. He will be missed by many.

Along with his wife, Floyd is survived by one son, Kenneth P. Reeser of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Erin L. Rubio and her husband, Miguel, of Falls Church, VA; two grandchildren, Grace E. and Maya V. Rubio; many nieces and nephews, including his closest nephew Floyd Reeser and his wife, Darci, of Elizabethtown, PA; and his closest niece, Barbara Reeser-Smiesko and her husband, Dan, of Freeport, PA.

Along with his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his son, Wade H. Reeser on December 24, 2020; five brothers, William, Robert, Thomas, Wade, and Joseph; and one sister, Marian Reeser. He was the last of his generation.

Funeral services will be privately held at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Centre Hall with Pastor David Downer officiating. Floyd will be laid to rest at the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall, along with his son, Wade.
