Irvin Carl Gray, 78, of Howard, PA, passed away June 12, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born February 16, 1943 in Orviston, he was a son of the late Herbert and Henrietta Lomison Gray.

Irv was a 1961 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On January 28, 1961 he married his love whom survives, Betty Singer, sharing 60 years of marriage.

After retiring from Textron Lycoming, Irv provided security for the pipeline.

Irv was an avid baseball fan – having played for Orviston Little League, the Orviston Town Team, and followed the Pittsburgh Pirates. Irv could often be found at a baseball or softball field watching his family play the game he loved.
Irv enjoyed spending time with his family at barbeques and making homemade ice cream. Irv also enjoyed mountain rides, going to camp, and hunting season, which included old fashioned buckwheat cakes the first day of deer season.

Surviving are daughter Leisa (Shan) Packer of Howard, daughter Colleen Delaney of Mill Hall, son Gregory (Melissa) Gray of McElhattan, and daughter Katrina (Jerry) Waite of Blanchard; sister Loretta (Paul) Pletcher of Howard, brother Tim (Vicky) Gray of Warriors Mark; ten grandchildren Desiree (Anthony) Miller, Damien (Bobbie) Packer, Chelsy (Ryan) Scanlan, Zachary (Alicia) Kilgus, McKenzie Gray, Kyle Delaney, Brian Delaney, Kyla Waite, and Melaina Waite, Heather Allen; and eight great-grandchildren; Trevor, Teagan, Aubrey, Carter, Drayton, Quinten, Grayson, and Slate.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Packer, a brother, Thomas Gray, and a grandson, Tylor Gray.

Friends and family will be received at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 West Main Street, Howard, PA 16841 on Tuesday, June 15, from 5 until 7 p.m. with the funeral to follow.

Memorial contributions in Irv’s name may be made to either Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Medical Research Foundation or the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church through the funeral home.
