Jacob C. Knisely of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, known as Jake Knisely, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024. He was born June 12,1936, in Knox Dale, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Robert W. and Doris L. Swineford Knisely. 

Jake was a graduate of Reynoldsville High School, Class of 1954. On November 18, 1956, he married the former Sondra A. Rea who predeceased him.

Jake is survived by his son, Allan H. (Susan) Knisely of Pleasant Gap, and his two daughters, Stacia R. (Neil) Brady of Jacksonville, Florida, and Melanie G. Reed of Aldie, Virginia. Jake is also survived by his grandchildren Aaron (Becky) Reed, Emily (Alex) Maloof, Andrea (Zachary Berger) Reed and Hannah (Ryan) Mosca, and his sister, Lorraine G. Kukula of DuBois.

Jake was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War era from June 1954 to June 1956. He attained the rank of corporal and was awarded the National Defense Metal as well as a Good Conduct Metal. He was a

member of Faith United Methodist Church of Bellefonte. 

He enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting or stream fishing.

Jake’s career was varied from a tractor trailer driver for Agway, Inc. in Warren, Pennsylvania and then to being the inventory control manager for Agway Supply Center in Pleasant Gap. He also supervised a three-man inventory team for Agway in Harrisburg, working in three different states. He finished his career as head custodian for Bellefonte Elementary School, the position from which he retired.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jake was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert L. Knisely and Garry F. Knisely, both of Reynoldsville. 

Honoring Jake’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be in the Reynoldsville Cemetery, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.
