James Donald Gardner(Howard) also known as Jim or Jimmy passed away on Thursday, February 4 at the age of 78.  Jim was born on August 30, 1942.  On June 20, 1964 he married Cynthia Jean Holter who preceded him in death 11years ago. 

Jim was the son of James L. and Eileen Gardner Mace.  Jim had three sons James(Shawnee), Jason, and Jeffrey(Lori).  He had four grandchildren-Kylie, James Lukas(Corina), Gage(Kimmy), and Kael.  Jim is also survived by a sister, Barbara Pierson and her husband Bernie. 

Jim was a dedicated member of Howard Christian Church where he had previously served as a trustee.  Jim worked at Cerro Metals until he suffered a stroke at age 59.  Jim was a graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School where he was an outstanding wrestler. He later became a great baseball player.  Two years ago Jim was inducted into the Northern Centre/Clinton County Baseball Hall of Fame.  After his playing days, Jim coached little league in Howard. 

In his free time, Jim enjoyed spending time with family, especially his wife Cindy visiting their condo in Ocean City, Maryland.  He was also a devoted hunter and fisherman.  

Jim was an avid Penn State Football fan.  He was also a great supporter of Bald Eagle Area Athletics especially Football, Wrestling, and Baseball which his sons and grandsons played.  He had designated special spots where he sat as a fan.  

Memorial service will be held at the Howard Christian Church, 367 Walnut St., Howard, on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with the Pastor Don Crane officiating.  Contributions may be made to Sylvan Hills Christian Camp,  PO Box 530, Lock Haven, Pa.  17745.
