James F. “Jim” Hahn, 84, of Pine Glen, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Windy Hill in Philipsburg. Born June 12, 1941, in Pine Glen, he was the son of the late Luther W. “Cookie” Hahn and Rose (Mackle) Hahn.

Jim was a 1958 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting on August 19, 1958. He attained the rank of Boiler Technician Third Class (BT3) before receiving an honorable discharge on June 11, 1962. He later continued his service as a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard in Clearfield from 1976 until 1992.

Following his military service, Jim returned home and began a long and dedicated career. He worked at Piper Aircraft for 14 years and later at Corning Glass for another 14 years before retiring.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors and staying active. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing golf and softball, shooting darts, pitching horseshoes, playing pool. He was a member of the Snow Shoe VFW Post 5644, Clarence American Legion Post 813, Clarence Moose Lodge 1565, and the Democratic Club in Clarence, where he cherished the friendships he made and the time spent socializing.

Jim was a familiar sight around town, often cruising through the neighborhood on his golf cart, usually shirtless, stopping to chat with friends and neighbors along the way. He took pride in his surroundings, even mowing the field with his riding tractor simply because he wanted the area to look its best. A firm believer that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure, Jim spent years collecting an assortment of items he proudly considered his “treasures.”

Above all, Jim’s greatest joy was his family. He treasured each of them and took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments.

He is survived by his son, David J. Hahn of Snow Shoe; two daughters, Anita M. Hahn of Pine Glen and Annette L. Conrad and her husband, Al, of Tennessee; two brothers, Richard “Chookie” Hahn of Carlisle, and Robert “Bobcat” Hahn and his companion, Tina Meeker, of Moshannon; one sister in law, Kathy Hahn of Philadelphia, and three grandchildren, Hunter Conrad, Macey Hahn, and Jalyn Hahn.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Charles “Chuck” Hahn and one grandson, Tyler Conrad.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on June 13, 2026 at 2pm, at the Snow Shoe VFW.
