Janet Beth Gallup

Janet Beth Gallup, 70, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 9, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born to parents Paul L Robb and Claire Harris Robb, on January 1, 1951 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Janet holds the distinguished title of being the first female baby born on New Year’s Day in 1951.

She graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1968 and the Erie school districts LPN program in 1982. She then went on to study nursing at Edinboro University and graduated with as a RN, BSN in 2000. She was a past member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Janet dedicated her entire career to the service of caring for others: from floor nursing in hospitals, to joining the travel nursing corps that took her to Memphis TN and Kansas City KS, and eventually putting down roots in the San Francisco Bay area in CA where she retired from John Muir Health as a home health nurse in 2016. Upon retiring she moved back to Pennsylvania to spend more time with her children and enjoy retirement.

She enjoyed traveling with her friends to Zydeco music & dance festivals in Ft. Lauderdale FL, Lafayette LA, Philadelphia PA, and numerous other locations throughout CA. She also enjoyed traveling with her friends and family to locations such as Italy, Ireland, Alaska, as well as many cities across the USA. She enjoyed making dried flower arrangements and various other crafts to brighten her home as well as homes of those she loved. Since retirement, her summers were spent with family and friends “glamping” and boating at Raystown Lake.

Janet is survived by her daughter Christine Seibert Marcotte (David) of Chambersburg PA, and son Eric Seibert (Heather) of Bethlehem, PA.

She was preceded in death by Paul L Robb, Father, Claire H Robb, Mother, & Timothy C Robb, Brother.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA. Officiating will be Associate Pastor Stuart Redcay of Big Woods Bible Church. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 10:30 am until time of services. Livestreaming will begin on the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home facebook page at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park
