Joseph J. Evock, Jr, 86, of State College, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at the Wynwood House in Patton Township. Born on July 4, 1934, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Mary M. (Matesic) Evock. On July 24, 1954, at the St. John Catholic Church, he married Patricia C. Confer, who passed away on July 15, 2013.

Joe was a 1952 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and a 1960 graduate of Pennsylvania State University where he earned his BA in Business Administration. He worked at various hospitals in the human resources departments, retiring in 2006 as the Personnel Director at the Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington, PA.

Joe was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellefonte. He, along with his sister, Florence, built large model ships in his basement. These models could take years to build, and they were proud when they were finished and could not wait to start the next one. He enjoyed mowing his ½ acre lawn with his large John Deere tractor. He loved spending time with his K-9 friend, Josie, and was heartbroken when she passed away.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Christina M. Clover and her husband, Thomas, of Chesapeake Beach, Md; two sisters: Florence Workinger and her husband, Blaine, of Bellefonte and Mary Anne Wassel and her husband, David, of Lancaster, and one brother, Edward Evock and his wife, Barbara, of Lancaster.

There will be a public graveside service on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 11am at the Centre County Memorial Park Cemetery with Father George Jakopac officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc. 228 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Centre Hall. An online guest book can be signed or condolences to the family available at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
