Joyce L. (Clowson) Posca

Joyce L. Posca, 84 , resident of the Cottages at Homewood, Martinsburg, Pa. formerly of Parkersburg, WV., passed away at her home on Friday, April 30, 2021.  She was born on December 23, 1936, in Geeseytown, the daughter of the late Charles Edward & Ethel (Whiteman) Clowson.  

She was united in marriage to  David Leslie Posca on August 3, 1963 in Williamsburg, he preceded her in death on November 2, 2015.

Joyce was a homemaker and also babysat for many years and truly loved doing it as they then became her second family.

She was a member of the Welcome Wagon hosting in Parkersburg, WV., also a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, WV., where she was involved in the Missionary work and she also was a Sunday school teacher.  She was also a member of the Sorority Beta Sigma Phi. in Parkersburg, WV as well as Altoona.  She loved walking for exercise, playing tennis and cards and was an avid reader.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Melissa “Missy” (Keith) Lowther of Roseburg, Or., and Cynthia (TJ) Alldridge of San Jose, CA., two sisters, Shirley Brumbaugh and Janice Fiore and three grandchildren Adam Lowther, Caroline & Stella Alldridge.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Along with her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Charles William “Bill” Clowson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, 3005 Mulberry St., Martinsburg at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian McCall officiating.  Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Research, DIY, PO Box 650020, Dallas, TX 75265 or to the charity of your choice.
