Kenneth L. Durkin 82, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital.
He was born in Lock Haven on May 9, 1939 a son of the late William and Hazel Phillips Durkin. He was a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven High School. Ken was united in marriage to Frances Homan on September 16, 1967, she survives at their home. He retired from Champion Parts after many years of service. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Hublersburg.
Ken was a member of the life long Phillies and Eagles Fan and enjoyed NASCAR. He loved the Boston Terrier dog breed.
Along with is wife he is survived by a brother-in-law Boyd (Jeanne() Homan of Spring Mills, a sister Carol (Jack) Robison of Mingoville, sister-in-laws Shirley (Thomas) Boldin of Bellefonte and Doris (Mike) McKinney of Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his k-9 companion Bailey a Boston Terrier and Tire Schneefuss a foreign exchange student who lived with them from Germany. He was preceded in death by a son Bryan Durkin on July 24, 1992.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard at 2:00 p.m. with the Deacon Thomas Boldin officiating. Friends and family will be received from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Schencks Cemetery in Howard. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bellefonte Educatonial Foundation memorial scholarship fund in memory of Bryan Durkin c/o Ken Bean Allegheny St., Bellefonte, Pa. 16823.
