L. Jane Haagen of Bellefonte passed away April 15, 2023, one day prior to her 88th birthday at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She was born in Bellefonte, the daughter of the late Blaine J and Cora E Corman Sampsel on April 16, 1935.
She was a 1953 graduate of the Walker Township High School. She retired from West Penn Power Company in December 1996, after 30 years of service. Afterwards, she worked various part-time jobs at PSU, PNC Bank and at Weis Markets in Bellefonte.
On October 15, 1960 she married Stover W Bressler in Hublersburg, PA. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1975. On April 21, 1995 she married W. Vance Haagen who preceded her in death on August 26, 2018. She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Hublersburg. She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Rudd of Bellefonte, two grandchildren Amelia Benner and Deloss Rudd, a stepson William Haggen (Maryann) of Bellefonte, and several stepchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Sampsel (Molly) of Zion and James Sampsel (Gloria) of Howard.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Jack Sampsel in 2013.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Multiple Sclerosis or American Cancer Society. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be at the Hublersburg Cemetery.
