Lobelia C. “Libby” Heeman, 82, of Bellefonte, unexpectedly passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior and joined her beloved husband on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at home. Born on December 1, 1938, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Curtis J. and Violet E. (Baird) Lonberger. On June 19, 1958, in Bellefonte, she married the love of her life, Robert E. Heeman, Sr, who entered into Heaven on March 13, 2011.

Libby attended Bellefonte Area High School. She worked in the janitorial department of Penn State University until she retired in 2000, after 22 years of service.

Libby was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Milesburg. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed a good game of CAD. She would spend her time completing crossword puzzles, watching Judge Judy and the Price Is Right. She enjoyed her Chinese food very much. Libby was an outgoing, strong, independent, honest, and fun-loving woman. She was a giver. She loved her family above all else, especially her grandchildren, even the four-legged fur ones, and her great grandchildren. Anyone that knew her would want you to remember her as a woman of character, always remembering the life she lived and the love she gave.

Libby is survived by three sons, Robert E. “Bob” Heeman, Jr and his wife, Deborah, of Warriors Mark, Timothy L. Heeman of Somerset, and Stacey L. Heeman and his wife, Leigh, of Pleasant Gap; two daughters, Kimberly K. Heeman of Elizabethtown and Teresa E. Lehman and her husband, Mickey, of Bellefonte; 8 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Libby is also survived by two brothers, Sherman Lonberger and his wife, Gyla, of Texas and Marlin Lonberger of Bellefonte; two sisters, Waneda Butler of Bellefonte, and Kathleen “Kathy” Lonberger of Bellefonte; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends that will miss her dearly.

Along with her parents and husband, Libby was preceded in death by three brothers, Milford Lonberger, Calin “Pete” Lonberger, and Larue Lonberger and one sister, Shirley Hockenberry.

Following Libby’s wishes, a private Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be held at a later date at the home of Teresa and Mickey Lehman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
