Lois M. Corl, 94 of Pine Grove Mills, PA passed away at Centre Care on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
She was born September 26, 1929 in Bellefonte, PA to Harry G. and Mary P. Sunday. She is the last of her family. Lois graduated from State College High in 1947. On September 11, 1948 she married her high school sweetheart, Sheldon Corl, who preceded her in death on December 23, 2021 after 73 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children David Corl and partner Susy Ketner of Townsend, Tennessee and Cinda Corl and husband Paul Johnson of Pine Grove Mills, Pennsylvania. One grandson, David Andrew Corl of Knoxville, Tennessee. Lois is also survived by sisters-in-law; Beverly Corl Haynes, Connie Corl Levine, Barbara Corl Spindler, and one brother-in-law, Ted Corl. In addition, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews on both the Sunday and Corl sides of the family.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, Stoy Sunday, Norman Sunday, Earl Sunday, Ted Sunday; and sisters Anne Sunday, Helen Sunday Sauers, infant Dorothy Sunday.
Lois spent many years as a 4-H leader for sewing, cooking and square dancing. She enjoyed camping and going to the beach; quilting with her favorite niece Dori and eating pie with her favorite niece Nancy. Lately she found happiness in playing Uno, Skip-Bo, dominoes, doing puzzles and all kinds of crafts. Like many people from this area, she was a big fan of Penn State football. Lois belonged to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Grove Mills.
The family would like to acknowledge the care given to Lois during her stay at Harmony and Centre Care.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 277 W. Pine Grove Rd., Pine Grove Mills.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00am at the church with Pastor Paul Tomkiel officiating.
