Lois Marie (Rockey) Corl, 85, of Centre Hall, passed quietly into the arms of God on Saturday, September 2, 2023, while surrounded by her family. Born on January 31, 1938, in Mingoville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Helen (Bierly) Rockey. On March 4, 1972, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Centre Hall, she married David R. Corl, who survives at home.

Lois was part of the last graduating class from Walker Township High School in 1956. She worked as a Staff Assistant at Penn State University for 35 year before retiring in 2002.  

Lois was a member of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Centre Hall and a member in the Garden Club. Her quick wit, contagious love, and unique ability to draw the best out of us will be treasured and remembered by all. Her hobbies included sewing, painting, cooking, and the lost art of friendship.

Along with her husband of 51 years, Lois is survived by her sister, Janet Rich (Chuck) of Lakewood, CO; her brother, William Rockey (Sandy) of Centre Hall; her daughters, Brenda Scott (George) of Bellefonte, Ginger Leach (Kenny) of Bellefonte, Beth Ondo (Ron) of State College; and her daughter in-law, Mary Gedon of Chesapeake, VA; and her son, Steve Gedon (Linette) of Beckley, WV. Her life will continue to be celebrated by her 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dana Gedon.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10am – 12pm at the Centre Hall Lions Club. A celebration of her life will be held immediately following at 12 with Rev. LeRoy Reitz officiating. A private graveside will be held for immediate family at the Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall with a reception following at the Lion’s Club park.
