Lynda Kay (Vought) Warnaka, 88, of State College, PA, passed away on October 29, 2024
Lynda was a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Renowned for her boundless optimism, generous heart, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met, she brought warmth and unwavering joy to the lives of all who knew her.
Born on July 2, 1936, in Erie, PA to Charles Kimber Vought and Lynette Naomi Dieter Vought, Lynda was the eldest of three children. She attended Academy High School where she earned honors and was a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating, Lynda dedicated her life to caring for her family both immediate and extended, honoring all the generations with her love and devotion.
Lynda was married on June 4, 1955, to Glenn, her devoted husband of 69 years. They met at St. John’s Lutheran church in Erie, PA and it was love at first sight. Together they raised a family of five children and enjoyed traveling to all parts of the world.
Lynda was always a teacher to those who paid attention. Self-sufficiency, forgiveness, unselfishness, and unconditional love were only some of the lessons you could learn from how she lived her life.
Lynda is survived by her husband Glenn, children Brian Warnaka (Patricia), Karen Warnaka (Upul), Mark Warnaka (Margaret), Sarah Grey, Richard Warnaka (LeeAnn), grandchildren Roger, Eric, David, Rachel, Daniel, Matthew, Patrick, Megan, and Katherine, and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Susan Osborne, and brother Todd Vought (Barbara). If she is remembered for just a tiny fraction of the love she gave to all she met, she will be remembered forever.

Family and friends will be received from 2 – 4pm on Monday, November 4th and from 10am -12pm on Tuesday, November 5th at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
A celebration of Lynda’s life will follow at 12 pm on Tuesday, November 5th with Jackie Naginey Hook officiating.
She will be buried at the Erie Cemetery in Erie, PA.
