Mary A. Houser (Lose)

Mary A. Houser, 76, of Bellefonte passed away at home on January 19, 2021. Mary was born on June 10, 1944, the daughter of the late Homer and Annie (Kessling) Lose. Mary attended Bellefonte High School. On August 31, 1961, she married the love of her life Harold Houser, who preceded her in death on August 19, 2020. They were happily married for almost 59 years. 

Mary was a simple woman who never had a drivers license or a paying job and rarely left Centre County. Her occupation was housewife and mother, and she was the best at both. Mary collected stuffed animals, M & M memorabilia and anything that had to do with cats. She was an avid Nascar fan and rooted for Kyle Busch, who drove the M & M’s car. Mary was a member of the Bellefonte Moose Lodge #206. 

Mary is survived by one son, Rick (Sherry) Houser and 2 daughters Lisa (Tom) Weller and Karen McMinn. Also surviving are 4 grandsons, Zack, Scotty, Shane and Shawn, and a sister Judy and a brother Jack. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ken, Sonny and Larry Lose. 

The family owes a debt of gratitude to her brother Jack who brightened her day and helped take care of her during her final months. It is comforting to know that he was holding her hand when she took her last breath. The family will be forever grateful.
