Nancy Paige Rice, 83, of Bellefonte, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born on August 28, 1937 in Millheim, she was the daughter of the late Randall T. and Virginia (Keen) Stump. On October 15, 1955, she married the love of her life, Robert “Drew” Rice, who survives her at home after sharing more than 65 years of marriage together.

Nancy was a 1955 graduate of East Penns Valley High School. She worked for SMS Sutton Engineering, where she was an inside sales/purchasing agent, for 25 years until her retirement in 2001.

In addition to her husband, Drew, she is survived by their five children, Kathleen Dru Rice of Bellefonte, Scott Samuel Rice (Melissa) of Chattanooga, TN, Robert John Rice (Shelie) of Centre Hall, Barbra Lyn Belko (Dave) of Philipsburg, and Mollie Anne Rice of Bellefonte, nine grandchildren: Erica, Amanda, Ryan, Adam, Brooke, Anna, Aaron, Nicole, and Tyler, and four great-grandchildren, Carter, Hadleigh, Lena, and Jude. Also surviving are her two sisters, Sharon Heckman of Millheim, and Vickie Weber of Rebersburg.

Nancy was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in Centre Hall. She was an avid Penn State fan and held season football tickets for many years, attending almost all major bowl games back in the day. She loved going on “adventures” with the family, especially to the beach. She always looked forward to the yearly trips to Grange Fair, which is also where she met her beloved husband, Drew. Most of all, Nancy treasured spending time with her family. Her grandchildren would always put a smile on her face and there was never a gathering without endless amounts of love, laughter, and food!

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to the Calvary Bible Church at 600 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
