Alan William Myers, 76, of Snydertown, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his home. Born on July 16, 1941, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Paul and Miriam Caris Myers. On September 2, 1961 in Snydertown, he married Marjorie J. Zerby, who survives at home.

Alan was a 1960 graduate from State College High School. He was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Snydertown. He was employed as a Carpenter for HRI, retiring in 2002 after 39 years of service.

Alan was an avid outdoorsman. He love to work in his garden. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was an excellent concretor. He could fix or build anything. He was a hard worker all his life. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Alan is survived by wife, one son, Randell A Myers and his wife, Susan, of Mechanicsburg, one daughter, Diana L. Poorman and her husband, James, of Snydertown, one brother, Richard Myers and his wife, Wanda, of Port Matilda, and two sisters; Katharyn Sak and her husband, James, of Lebanon, PA and Janet Campbell and her husband, Craig, of North Carolina.

Also surviving are Alan’s six grandchildren, Ryan Poorman, Meranda Kaiser, Garrett Poorman, Zack Myers, Kayla Myers, and Drew Reisinger, and five great grandchildren; Gracie, Colten, Levi, Parker, and Kennedy.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 6-8pm at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard and on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 10-11am at the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Snydertown. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11am at the church with Pastor Brandon Kane officiating. Burial will follow at the Snydertown Cemetery.
