Albert C. Dutrow, 87, of Loganton, formerly of Centre Hall, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Lock Haven Hospital.

He was born May 2, 1924, in Centre Hall, a son of the late Peter (Pete) Leroy and Madeline Spayd Dutrow.

Jacqueline (Jackie) Heiser became his bride on February 27, 1946. Jackie survives in Lock Haven.

Albert graduated from Centre Hall-Potter High School in 1942. He served with the U. S. Army, 4th Armored Division, Headquarters Battery 771st Field Artillery Battalion during World War II. He earned an American Theatre Medal, a Bronze Star Medal, a European African Middle Eastern Theatre Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, and a world war II Victor Medal. He was discharged Christmas Day 1945; at Fort Indiantown Gap at Annville.

His career spanned many years as a corrections officer at Rockview State Correctional Institution.

Mr. Dutrow was a long time member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Centre Hall

He had a deep interest in and was very knowledgeable about guns.

Surviving Mr. Dutrow in addition to his wife are two sons, Gary Lee Dutrow and his wife Joyce of Loganton, and Barry Lynn Dutrow and his wife Linda of Centre Hall; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 12:30 p. m. 1:00 p. m. Thursday, November 3, 2011, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall. A memorial service will follow immediately at 1:00 p. m. with the Reverend Scott Klimke officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, W. Church St. Centre Hall, PA
