Albert H. Decker, formerly of Spring Mills, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. He was 94. Born November 30, 1922 in Spring Mills, Albert was a son of the late John Henry and Rosetta “Long” Decker. He married Helen I. Workinger on August 31, 1944; she preceded him in death in 1996.

Albert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 during World War II. When he returned home he was employed with the Great American Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. in Pittsburgh, formerly known as the A&P Store. He then was employed by Hanover Foods, retiring in 1987 with 30+ years of service. He was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church. He was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the church board at Sprucetown UMC, a member of the Progress Grange at Centre Hall and a member of the Spring Mills Senior Citizens. In his younger years when he was able, Albert loved to hunt, garden and do woodworking. Above all else, Albert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Albert is survived by one daughter, Tierney Myers (Ralph) of Spring Mills, one son; Albert Decker (Tammy) of Howard; six grandchildren, Tina Duck, Shawn Myers, Dawneigh Decker, Carrie Vidrine, Christina Burns, Kayla Decker and nine great grandchildren. Albert was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, four sisters and four brothers.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 10-11 am at New Hope Lutheran Church in Spring Mills, followed by the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Brandon Cian officiating. Albert will be laid to rest in Sprucetown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Albert may be given to Sprucetown Cemetery Association, c/o John Smith, 186 Old Fort Road, Spring Mills, PA. 16875.
