Andrew Joseph Keim "Schweppe," 32, of State College, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born Sept. 22, 1977, in York, he was a son of Leo Stephen and Marcia Young Keim. He was a 1996 graduate of Dallastown Area High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Penn State in speech and communications in 2000 and a bachelor's degree in history from Lock Haven University, where he received his secondary education teaching certificate in 2007.

Andrew was a history and social studies teacher for the State College Area School District for the past three years. He was formerly employed by the Enterprise Co. in York and State College and the Restek Corp. of Bellefonte. He was a member of the Chambersburg Rugby Club, e Penn State Rugby Club and e Happy Valley Barbarian Rugby Club. He recently reincarnated his childhood passion of playing baseball, especially the position of catcher. He was a member of the Outdoor Sportmen's Club of State College and the National Rifle Association. Through the years, "Schweppe," as his family and friends call him, developed his most significant friendships through his gaming activities.

Andrew is survived by his father, Leo Stephen Keim and his wife, Suzanne, of York; and his mother, Marcia O'Connor and her husband, Thomas, of Clearwater, Fla. He is also survived by two brothers, Jonathan P. Keim and his wife, Beth, of Bellefonte, and Stephen T. Keim, of Crested Butte, Co.; his maternal grandmother, Doris Young, of Mountville; two nephews, Isaac Andrew and Elijah Edward Keim, of Bellefonte; a stepsister, Sarah M. Keeney; and a stepbrother, Nathan P. Keeney, of York. He will sorely be missed by his dog, Lloyd, who was his canine soulmate. Lloyd will be adopted by Andrew's brother, Stephen, and will reside in Colorado.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graysville Cemetery.
