Surrounded by her family and friends, Ann L. Smith, 79, of Orviston, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center. Born on September 30, 1936, in Orviston, she was the daughter of the late Paul I. and Marian I. Daley Lomison. On October 1, 1966, in Howard, she married Ronald J. Smith who survives at home.

Ann attended the Lock Haven High School. Through the years, she was employed at the Lock Haven Laundry, Bobbie Brooks, and the Blanchard Woolrich Plant. After Woolrich, she became a homemaker.

Ann was a member of the Orviston Bible Church, where she faithfully attended and was an active part of the church for 40 plus years. Although her failing health kept her from regularly attending in the recent weeks, she held true to her faith.

Ann had many hobbies. She made beautiful knotted quilts, and ceramics. She shared the quilts and ceramics with her family and friends. She loved preparing food for her family and for church fellowship events. She enjoyed spending time with people.

Along with her husband of 49 years, Ann is survived by her daughters; Lana I. Lomison of Upper Marlboro, MD and Angela K. Toner and her husband, Kevin, of Monument, and her son, Ronald L. Smith of Orviston. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Derrick J. Smith and his wife, Mayra, Darci A. Spicer and her husband, Elmer, and Max R. Toner, two great grandchildren; Landyn and Nolan and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who meant a lot to her.

Along with her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her only sister, Blanche I. “Sis” Confer and four brothers; Paul A. “Zip” Lomison, Gerald L. “Bud” Lomison, Richard E. “Dick” Lomison and Kelsey E. Lomison. Ann was the last of her generation.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 10-12 noon at the Orviston Bible Church, 59 Front St. Orviston. Ann’s home going service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 12 noon at the church with Rev. Karl Steele officiating. Burial will follow at the Romola Cemetery.
