Obituary of Ann. M McCool, 91

Ann M. McCool, 91, of Spring Mills, passed from this life on Sunday, March 24, 2013. Ann, a daughter of the late W. Ray and Bessie McClellan Smith was born on November 21, 1921 in Centre Hall. She was a 1939 graduate of Gregg Towhship High School in Spring Mills. On November 12, 1944, Ann was united in marriage to Richard M. McCool, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2001.

Ann was employed at Gettig Pharmaceutical, retiring with 20 years of service. She was a member of the former Penns Creek Lutheran Church and the Gregg Twp. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Ann enjoyed attending public sales and hosting her own yard sales. She also enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Brush Mountain. Whenever she was there, the old cook stove was fired up, even if it was summer. Ann was a great cook and made the best pies. In her spare time, Ann enjoyed embroidery, often giving the items she made to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Ann is survived by one son, Richard A. "Sam" McCool (Donna) of Spring Mills; two grandchildren, Samuel A. McCool (Kathy) of Lewistown and Scot R. McCool of Spring Mills; one great granddaughter, Samantha, and one step great granddaughter, Hannah. Also surviving are siblings, Joseph M. Smith of Boalsburg, Gene R. Smith of Bellefonte, Doris Leitch (William) of Madisonburg, and Nancy Stover (Fred) of Spring Mills. In addition to her husband, Ann was preceded in death by one sister, Bernadine Homan.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral will follow at 11:00. Ann will be laid to rest in Heckman Cemetery in Spring Mills.
