Ann Williams Warner, aged 82, died peacefully at home on June 26, 2016, after a long and courageous struggle with both Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) and Congestive Heart Failure.
Ann was a remarkable woman who chose to live a joyful, gracious, and love filled life, despite many decades-long health challenges. Her joy filled and courageous approach to life will be missed by all who knew her.
Ann was born December 26, 1933, in Altoona, PA, the daughter of Ermatrude (Trudie) Hicks and Hubert Williams. She grew up in Lemont, PA. where she excelled in academics, easily skipping a grade in elementary school and showing a keen interest in science in high school. She applied to and was accepted at Penn State University, but chose, instead, to marry her longtime friend and sweetheart, Clifford Warner, Jr. on September 29, 1951.
Ann took on the role of homemaker and mother with gusto. She described her proudest moments as the births of each of her six children, her twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She relished and loved time spent with her sisters and their families, her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. All who were blessed to come under her spell knew we were “fantastic” and loved!
In her free time, Ann was an active member of the Spring Creek Presbyterian church where she served as an organist and Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her sisters Joan H. LeBlanc (Ernest) and Faye R. McKenzie (Robert -deceased), her children, William R. (Aileen) Warner of Pleasant Gap, PA, Trudi W. (Peter) Blair of Virginia, Michael D. (Lori) Warner of Royersford, PA, James A. (Roberta) Warner of Spring Mills, PA, Beth S. Warner-Eastman (Greg Smith) of Virginia and daughter-in-law, Mary Warner Moyer of Gibsonia, PA., her grandchildren: Rachel, Rebecca, Ian, Cassidy, David, Mary Elizabeth, Michael, John, James, Christopher, Benjamin and Anne. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren, a nephew, Barry J. LeBlanc, a niece, Karen (Randy) Moore, grandnieces Kelsey and Sarah and a sister-in-law Delores (Calvin) Williams.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, a son, John David Warner and her husband.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ann’s life Saturday July 9, 2016, from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM, with the memorial service starting at 11:00 AM, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA., with The Reverend Paul Mortifmore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the HHT Foundation (curehht.org) to honor Ann’s life.
