Anna M. Broome, 57, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018, at home surrounded by her family and friends. Born on March 19, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Olive E. (Lutz) Leigey. She was the soul-mate of her long-term companion, Mark Woomer, who survives at home.

Anna was a graduate of Penns Valley High School. She worked as a bartender for numerous bars in the area, most recently being the Milesburg American Legion Post 893.

In addition to her significant other, Mark Woomer, and his children, Wade Woomer of South Carolina and Trisha Woomer of Bellefonte, she is survived by two children, Jennifer Dobson (Terry Hauser) of Snow Shoe, and Carlin Broome (Erica) of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren, Mika Broome, Tristan Broome, Avery Broome, Clayton Woomer, Chase Woomer, Colton Woomer, and Bristol Woomer, and her very special friend, Sherry Minarchick. Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters, Ruth Berkey of Bellefonte, Bonnie Hartman of Snow Shoe, Connie Shaffer of Snow Shoe, Janet Leigey of Altoona, David Leigey of Loganton, and Robert “Fess” Leigey of New York.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Patty Jo Leigey and one brother, Daniel R. Leigey.

Anna was a motorcycle enthusiast. She enjoyed gardening, camping and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #206, Milesburg American Legion Post 893, VFW Post 1600, and the Castanea Fire Hall.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life Benefit Ride will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 beginning at 1pm at the Moose Lodge #206 at 125 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte and ending around 5pm at the Centre Hall American Legion Post 779 at 2928 Penns Valley Pike, Centre Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
