Anna Mae Fletcher Guth, 83, formerly of Oil City, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at the Kittanning Care Center, Kittanning, Pa. Born in Oil City on June 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Louise Hartle Fletcher.

Anna Mae was a 1944 graduate of Cranberry Area High School, and following several years of employment as a secretary with the Transit Company in Oil City, settled into her lifelong dedication to homemaking and raising a family.

She loved working with crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, long Sunday afternoon rides with her husband, Loren, and spending time with her sister, her children and her grandchildren. Before moving to Kittanning, Pa. to be close to her daughter Kathy, she was a lifelong member of the St. Stephen Church in Oil City, and was a long time member of the Altar Rosary Society.

On Sept. 18, 1949 she married Loren Henry Guth, 89, who survives her and resides in the Grey's Colonial Gardens Assisted Living Center in Kittanning, Pa. In addition to her husband, Loren, Anna Mae is survived by her three children, Dennis Guth with his wife Maureen, of State College, Gary Guth with his wife Cheryl, of Rochester, N.Y., and Kathleen Guth, of Kittanning, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Laurel Guth and Cara Guth, of Rochester, N.Y., Christopher Guth, of Philadelphia, Erica Guth, of Millersville, Md., and Kelsey Guth, of State College. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Ed Fletcher, Walt Fletcher, Robert "Butch" Fletcher, Bill Fletcher and a sister Marilyn Henry.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home, 110 Petroleum St, Oil City, on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St Stephen Church with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, Cranberry.
