Anthony “Tony” Kibelbek, 89, of Boalsburg, died Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Juniper Village at Brookline.

Born December 10, 1927, in Bentleyville, he was the son of the late Anthony V. and Julia Fett Grosner Kibelbek. On August 1, 1959 he married Mary Margaret Boyle, who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Anthony M. “Tony” Kibelbek and his wife, Vicki Wertz, of Altoona and Julia Kibelbek and her husband, Matthew Junker, of Emmaus; two grandchildren, Eric A. and Caroline M. Junker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings.

Anthony was a 1945 graduate of Bentleyville High School.

Anthony enlisted in the Army in 1945 and served in Korea as a sergeant. He attended Penn State University on the GI Bill as an ROTC member. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts in 1952, Anthony served as a Lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps stationed in Germany.

After his discharge from the military, Anthony worked at WCOJ in Chester County PA and then at Sealtest National Dairies in Wilmington, DE.

Anthony began working for the Applied Research Lab at Penn State University in 1956 as a Purchasing Agent. He retired in 1991 after 35 years of service.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, State College. He was also a member of the State College Elks Lodge #1600, the State College Rotary Club and served on the Board for the Boalsburg Military museum.

Anthony loved spending time with his family and was known for his generous spirit and his inexhaustible supply of jokes. He was an avid outdoorsman who hunted and enjoyed fly fishing trips to Montana and Wyoming. He was an ardent supporter of Penn State Athletics, especially football.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with the Reverend Neil Dadey officiating.

Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
