Arthur H. Marshall, 88, of Centre Hall, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Fairways at Brookline.

Born on July 3, 1923 in Beccaria, PA, he was a son of the late Archibald T. and Bertha W. (Wild) Marshall.

He was a 1942 graduate of Snow Shoe High School.

On December 20, 1945 in Centre Hall, he married Lillian M. (Foss) Marshall, who survives at home. They recently celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary.

Mr. Marshall honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as a Military Policeman in Africa, Italy, France, and Germany.

Arthur first began his career in 1945 at Titan Metal in the Melting Department. He operated Marshall's Gulf in Old Fort from 1958-1967. In 1967, he started at Corning Glass Works as a Technician, where he retired after 23 years of service. In 1976, he established Marshall Auto Parts. After retirement, he drove school bus for Miller Motor Company, then delivered parts from 2000 to 2004.

He loved to go camping, square dancing, and was an avid walker.

Arthur was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 779, The Old Fort F&AM Lodge 537, the Williamsport Consistory, the Tall Cedars, VFW Post 1600 in Bellefonte, NCT Camping, Coachman Camping, Good Sam, and a former member of Centre Squares.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; three sons, Thomas Marshall (Linda) of Centre Hall, David Marshall (Karen) of St. Kitts, Virgin Islands, and Emery Marshall (LeAnn) of Centre Hall; one sister, Jane A. Bell of Canton, MI; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Joseph, his twin brother Arch, and Vivian Renaud.

Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the funeral services on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan Weibel officiating. Burial will be private at Centre County Memorial Park.
