Obituary of Barbara Ceprish, 91

Barbara A. Ceprish, 91, of Clarence, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Centre Crest Nursing and Rehab Center in Bellefonte.

Born on March 30, 1922, in Springfield, IL, she was the daughter of the late Adam M. & Barbara A. Elias Cingel. On June 22, 1940 in Clarence, she married Paul G. Ceprish, Jr. who passed away on July 1, 2002.

Barbara attended the Cherry Run School. In her early years, she worked at the hosiery mill in Clarence. Once she married and had started a family, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence. She was also a member of the Clarence American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed collecting angels, shopping, playing bingo, playing cards, and going to Atlantic City. She treasured her time with family and friends. She always wanted you to stay with her, loving every moment that you were there. You would never go hungry at her house; the minute you entered, she wanted to feed you. She was an excellent cook. Making her children’s favorite; homemade soup, potato cakes, and hulabki, just to name a few. She would enjoy sitting on her porch and watching the traffic go by…

Barbara was a great protector of her children in all situations. Family was everything to her. She was a resident of Centre Crest for the past 2 1/2yrs, loving the nurses and the aides, always telling them that she loved them. They gave her excellent care. Even to the end, she always smiled at you ask you spoke her name and would talk to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Barbara is survived by her five children; Barbara A. Ludwig of Clarence, Paul G. Ceprish, III and his wife, Pauline of Howard, Mary Jane Carlson and her husband, Jim, of Clarence, Patricia A. Drapcho and her husband, Edward, Jr., of Clarence and Doreen M. “DeeDee” Rees, and her husband, Sam Sr., of Snow Shoe. Also surviving are her 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, sister in law, Pauline Padisak of Clarence, numerous nieces and nephews.
Alone with her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by; her son, Joseph P. Ceprish, two brothers, Joseph and Adam, three sisters, Betty Hehle, Mary Cingel, and Catherine Shriber, son in law, David “Yogi” Ludwig, and great-great granddaughter, Phoebe E. Yeaney.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45PM at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St, Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11am at the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence with Father Mark R. Reid officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Clarence.
