Beatrice P. Waxmunsky May 13, 1918 – November 21, 2009 Beatrice P. Waxmunsky, 91, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at The Fairways. Born on May 13, 1918, in Clarence, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Flora Ur Dudish. On July 26, 1940, in Virginia, she married Frank J. Waxmunsky, who passed away in November 1999.

Beatrice was a graduate from Snow Shoe High School. In her senior year, she played on the championship basketball team. She was employed in Food Services at the Pennsylvania State University. She was a member of the Clarence United Methodist Church and the Snow Shoe Senior Citizens Club. Beatrice was very active in her younger years. She the past auditor for the Snow Shoe Township, past president of the PTA while her children were in school, and was very active in her church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and served on the church board. She enjoyed knitting, embroidering, swimming, reading poetry, picnics, and other outdoor activities. She loved cooking and family gatherings.

Beatrice is survived by her four daughters, Joyce A. Wert (Lynn), of Howard, Geraldine Borger (Stanley), of Snow Shoe, Mary Lou Stiffler (Jacob) of Salix, and Kathleen B. Stavoy (George), of Williamsport; by her daughter-in-law, Margaret Waxmunsky, of Williamsport; 14 grandchildren, Terry Miller, David Wert, Tammy Snyder, Vonda Borger, Beth Ann Hernandez, LeAnn Flowers, Doyle Borger, Jacob Stiffler Jr., Jeffrey Stiffler, Danielle Stiffler, Joseph Stavoy, Amanda Velte, John Waxmunsky, and Jennifer Waxmunsky; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Beatrice is her sister, Margaret Biggans of Clarence. In addition to her parents and husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by her son, Frank J. Waxmunsky, who passed away in January 2001.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St., Snow Shoe. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m.,on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, with Pastor Jim Miller officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Township.
