On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Beatrice C. Saxion, 94, went home to be with the Lord. Waiting for her in Heaven was her beloved husband of 68 years, Joseph Saxion. Also there to welcome her were her parents, Curtis & Elsie Corl, as well as her sister, Ethel Strouse and her brothers, John & Elwood Corl .

She will be greatly missed by her family. She was known as “Mom” or “Mummy” to her daughters, Janet Wagner and husband, Steve, of Manheim, Charlene Yoho and husband, Jim, of Port Matilda and Mary Jo Smith and husband, Rusty, of Oak Harbor, WA.

She was known as “Gram” to her grandchildren, Scotti Marie Musser, Jonathan Folk and Sarah Elizabeth Yoho and great-grandson, Zachary Ebersole.

To her “baby” brother Lee Corl, of State College, who survives, she was known as “Beechie”.

She was a 1939 graduate of State College High School.

In her early years she worked at her Aunt and Uncle's Restaurant in the mid-30’s, Eagles Inn, as a waitress where she met her husband, Joe. After high school she worked for O’Briens Garage as a secretary and at Penn State University in their Property Control Department in Old Main, as a Key Punch Operator until 1945. In her later years she worked as a Cafeteria Aid for the State College Corl Street Elementary School and then the Westerly Parkway Jr. High School.

She was a lifetime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in State College.

Beatrice was a member of the Washington Grange until its closure and then the Baileyville Grange for a combined 70 plus years. She was also a member of the Lady Emily Rebekah Lodge.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 1795 West College Avenue, State College, with the Reverend Charles Fitzgerald officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 1795 West College Avenue, State College, PA 16801 or to the Comfort and Love Volunteer Auxiliary at Centre Crest, 502 E. Howard St. Bellefonte, PA 16823.
