Obituary of Belvia Carter, 88

Garnet Carter,88, of Hampton passed from this life on Monday, November 19, 2012, at Centre Crest Nursing Home.
She was born on October 3, 1924, in Rock Cave, West Virginia to the late Lonnie and Vetura Perrine.
She was preceded in death by her husband Aubrey W. Carter in December of 1980. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
She was a loving mother to eight children. She is survived by three sons, Vance Carter, Percy Carter, and Phillip Carter, and two daughters, Vetura (Jill) Jackson, and Anita Crust. She was preceded in death by two sons, Aubrey Carter Jr. and William (Billy) Carter and a daughter, Audrey Chodorov. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren and 5 great- great- grandchildren.
She was very active in The Woodmen of the World fraternal organization.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Christ United Methodist Church, 133 Deep Creek Road, Newport, News, VA. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
